Hello, describe Don Juan Y Los Blancos for those who may not have heard of the band?
We are a Garage band with boy/girl dueling vocals. Me (Juan) and Becky basically shout at each other for 30-40 mins. you know, depending on encores.

How did you get the name of the band?
I started recording songs by myself and for no good reason titled them ‘Don Juan’ and after we had a actual band together, we sat around suggesting names. I don’t even remember who said Y Los Blancos, but we all giggled and it stuck.

Who are some of your influences that seep through your music?
I like listing songs we cover when people ask this question, we do Huey Piano Smith, Gino Parks, Jackie Wilson, The Cramps, The Daylighters..mainly R&B and Soul, but We love all kinds of music.

How did you’ll get together?
We all have been playing in bands together for way too long now, Me and our guitarist, Aaron, have been good friends since high school. This is just our first band that anyone has actually cared about.

Where did you guys learn your sweet dance moves?
Kevin Bacon.

You guys have quite a stage presence what are some bands that just impress you when you saw them?
We saw Chuck Berry a while back, He was so fuckin’ cool! Especially cause all the old legends don’t move around too much these days, but he was all over the place. We also opened for Levi Dexter and he became my personal hero.

Who would you like to tour with?
Them. The Animals. and The Bacon Brothers

What are your favorite crowds to perform in front of?
The ones that dance with us. Drunks are usually really fun, they buy us a lot of drinks.

Any memorable shows you played so far that you’ll never forget?
All our shows are way too fun to be memorable.

Are you planning on releasing a full length album soon?
Yeah we are supposed to record soon, we’ve been talking about it for a while though, so who knows when we will actually have a record out. Hopefully before the end of the year.

What can we expect from Don Juan Y Los Blancos in the future?
Our very own line of perfumes. maybe sneakers. We really gotta expand the business you know? We are really marketable, there are millions of dollars to be made here.
